Mary spent her early years in Washington State where her family traveled from location to location.  Those years gave her many images of the natural beauty eminating from ocean foam to dark boreal forests to broad, golden, wheatlands.  Upon graduating from college with a BA degree, she took sabbatical for a year in Washington D.C., working at the National Institutes of Health.

Once returned to her home state, she spent a short period teaching on Whidbey Island before acquiring a job in California on the Monterey Peninsula. It was here she found time to pursue her interest in art. 

Beginning with oil and water color renderings, she was soon drawn to the brighter and more intense colors held in glass.  It was here she found a
home.

Now, living in the Santa Lucia Mountains above the Big Sur coast, she fuses the briliiant colors of glass into the thoughts and images that daily entice her in these magnificent surroundings.
